Business Continuity
Introduction
Is an essential part of any organisation’s response planning. It sets out how the business will operate following an incident and how it expects to return to ‘business as usual’ in the quickest possible time afterwards.
Our business continuity plan will be clear and specific, and structured in such a way that people understand what is expected.
The Process:
Progression through five stages will ensure a comprehensive process: understanding the school, determining the BCP strategy, developing and implementing the Business Continuity Management response, embedding the plans in the school’s culture, and exercising, maintaining and reviewing the plan and response. A Business Continuity Plan can be provided as a stand-alone piece of work or as part of the Business Critical - Emergency Planning, Critical Incidents and Business Continuity Service.

Our health, safety and risk management specialists can identify any areas for improvement to ensure you are compliant with your operating standards and that you have the necessary processes and procedures in place for safe operation.

Critical Incident and Emergency Response:
We have a team of experts who can respond to risk, reputation, critical incidents and emotional support. The team is on call to you, your staff and the school community 24/7. You will have fast access highly experienced emergency responders for practical and strategic crisis management advice. The responders will be able to fulfil various roles on your behalf.
Our online management system:
- You will be able to access a specialist, who will be able to guide you through an emergency
- Specialist qualified and registered counsellors will support for the emotional well-being for staff and pupils
- Assistance can be provided by telephone or located at your school and will be able to perform any of the roles identified on your business continuity plan if necessary.
- The support will be available throughout the incident as we morally believe that we cannot just provide you with support for the first day or two, and then charge you more for the rest of the incident, or walk away (as we have heard alternative providers do).
- There is no maximum number of incident responses.

Critical Incident Management
Critical incidents are part of business continuity management planning. The importance pre-thought, discussion and planning supports swift and effective decision-making in order to prevent an incident developing further into an uncontrolled crisis.
Fire Awareness and Fire Warden Training
Fire warden training will provide you with competent people to ensure that the risk of fire is minimised and that fires that do occur are dealt with swiftly and effectively, minimising danger to life and property. Having fire wardens has shown to be the quickest, most effective way to evacuate a building. It is also seen as a pro-active approach – fire wardens can be used to identify fire hazards and dangers before a fire occurs.
